Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Central Secretariat IMRAN KHAN’s statement on defamatory film on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) (13 Sept 2012) “I strongly condemn the defamatory film made maligning our revered Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Targeting Islam and spreading hate is unacceptable. “I also condemn the killing of all innocent people regardless of their caste, creed or colour. Islam does not allow such killings. The Muslim leadership must explain to people living in the Western world how Muslims revere and respect all the Prophets especially the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Quran which is the Divine word and a complete code of life. Unless the OIC makes the Western countries understand this reverence of the Prophet (PBUH) by Muslims, under the guise of freedom of speech Muslims will constantly be provoked by such acts . “Most Westerners do not look upon religion as Muslims do. Therefore, Muslims must be held to account within their own belief system and not that of others. Just as questioning of the Holocaust is painful to the Jews, and we respect this, so abuse of the Prophet (PBUH) is even more painful to Muslims. The West must respect Islam, and respect Muslims enough to let them decide what causes them pain – not assume to decide for them.” |
