According to the rumors ''She filled divorce papers against her husband and shifted herself to a separate apartment in defence while her husband still lives in Nazimabad.''

She has been severely sick with depression and other stuff due to which she was not hosting for Utho Jago Pakistan. But now she is back after a long time. She always used to put Wahidi with her name but now she calls herself as Dr. Shaista Talking about the public views.

Reports indicated that Shaista’s husband was against her from being on television, dancing on the show. Last year she took a vacation to Thailand with her kids only.

Shaista Wahidi started her career as a radio anchor which led her to become a news anchor at a private TV Channel. She hosted "Shaista and U", a thought-provoking program with a live audience which debated on various issues and topics pertaining to the Pakistani population and country.

She also hosted a morning show on ARY one world with the name of Bakhabar Savera and Good Morning Pakistan on ARY. She left ARY and went over to Geo Television and replaced Nadia Khan as the morning show host namely Utho Jago Pakistan.
