Ben Affleck wins gold at the Golden Globes, tackles Oscar snub

Ben Affleck got a double surprise at Sunday night’s Golden Globes when he took home a Best Picture prize as well as the award for Best Director, both for his Iran hostage drama “Argo.”
The 40-year-old may have been overlooked in the best director category at the Oscar nominations last week, but the film certainly seems to be making an impression on the award show circuit. Even Ben was shocked to receive a standing ovation from the crowded Globes ballroom.
