Mel Gibson has been through a lot of ups and downs in his career – especially in the past 6 years. Despite everything, the self-proclaimed “prom queen” of Sunday night’s Golden Globes, Jodie Foster, has always stood by him.
During her emotional acceptance speech for the Globes’ Cecil B. DeMille award, Jodie Foster gave a personal thank you to Gibson. omg! Insider's Mary Kitchen caught up with the actor at the InStyle/Warner Bros. after party to get his thoughts on that sweet sentiment.
“Jodie Foster gave an emotional speech tonight… what was it like in that room? Because everyone is talking about it,” Kitchen asked.
“You know, I love her,” Gibson replied.
“She loves you,” Mary reminded him.
“It’s like, it’s so flattering that she could. I don’t know… I thought it was great. I adore her. I kiss the ground she walks on.”
“Why is she so deserving of this award?” Kitchen asked. - Yahoo
“Because she’s real,” Gibson answered passionately.
Kitchen also got a fun fashion moment in with “The Passion of the Christ” director.
“What are you wearing tonight?” Kitchen asked.
“Armani... who else is there?” he said tongue-in-cheek.
Foster’s speech was the one topic everyone was buzzing about at the Globes after parties.
“What was the mood like in the room when she was speaking?” Kitchen asked “Modern Family’s” Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
“Pins and needles,” he explained. “We were on the edge of our seat. It was really cool. I loved that moment.”
“I thought it was great,” Matt LeBlanc later told Kitchen. “That’s a huge achievement, to sum up your whole career in one speech. I thought she did a great job.”
