The diet worked, then! TOWIE's Lucy Mecklenburgh shows off her toned bikini body in Mexico after weight loss kick following 7lbs Christmas gain
She has been keeping her Twitter followers updated with her progress after embarking on a weight loss kick following a 7lbs gain over Christmas and New Year.
And it seems that Lucy Mecklenburgh's healthy eating and fitness regime has most definitely paid off, with the TOWIE star showing off her newly-slim, toned figure while on holiday with boyfriend Mario Falcone in Cancun, Mexico.
The 20-year-old star opted for a strapless, frilly blue bikini as she strolled along the sands hand-in-hand with her long-haired beau.

Shortly after Christmas, Lucy tweeted that she was having some insecurity issues following her festive weight gain, writing: 'Literally cannot wait until Mexico on tues! I'm on a massive self hate right now. Pale put on 7pounds this Xmas, need to change my hair! Ah.'
But following that, Lucy tweeted that she has worked hard to get back down to her per-Christmas weight, writing: 'Although I have lost 5lbs in 4 days by changing 1 meal a day to soup & doing '10 min Solutions' dvd every morning!x'
Lucy and Mario appeared more in love than ever as they soaked up the sunshine on the beach in Mexico on their New Year's break.

As well as romantic strolls on the beach, the reality stars spent time on sunloungers on the balcony of their holiday accommodation.
And the pair couldn't resist leaning in for a tender kiss as they made the most of their time away.
It seems that despite Lucy's weight loss, the pretty blonde star is letting herself indulge somewhat on the break, with the pair seen sitting next to a Moet and Chandon champagne bucket at one point.

The duo certainly appeared to be enjoying a refreshing drink, as pitchers of cocktails and a bottle of vodka were also seen on the table next to their loungers.
Lucy and Mario are no doubt enjoying a break before they once again start filming the next series of hit ITV2 show The Only Way Is Essex.
But Lucy will have to cope with the absence of her best friend Lydia Bright, who announced at the end of the last season that she would not be returning for the next series.

However, at least Lucy still has Mario to keep her company, with the Italian stallion even showing his devotion to his girlfriend by having her initials tattooed on his ankle.
Tweeting a picture of the design during their break, Lucy wrote: 'Forgot @Mario_Falcone had me tattooed on him!! Guess I obviously don't see his ankles much!'
Lucy also kept her Twitter followers envious of her lifestyle by tweeting stunning scenery pictures of their Mexican holiday, as well as a shot of her incredibly flat stomach.
